I have added small canoe boats that new player can build, using only a bit of wood, that can help them cross small bodies of water. Hopefully this can help y'all players who are interested in establishing archipelago nations like Greece ;)

Hello and welcome to the first post in the MiniState dev blog! Here is a snapshot of how the world map currently rendered. As you can see, the world map will color the map based on which territories are claimed in the open, persistent world. Some randomness has been added along to the borders so that they look organic and natural. The map has also indicated the locations of various cities, which serve as crucial economic points. The world map will provide players with a high level view of the state of the world and critical locations so they can plan their offensive operations accordingly. The map will also display the locations of the player's units, so they can see how their defenses are distributed and if any have been breached.
You may have noticed the "Refresh Map" button on the side of the screen. Currently due to performance reasons the map is unable to be updated continuously after > 1000 flags have been placed. However, we will soon be implementing a new solution that will allow the world map to update in real time. Well, that's it for the first post. For the few of you who come across the first dev blog post, please remember that alpha testing is currently open and to share the game with your friends. ;) |
